Praise the Workman

On May 1st of each year, the Philippines celebrates Labor Day as a national holiday. International Workers' Day is another name for this day. Throughout this time, parades, rallies, and other activities are held all around the Philippines. Other cities and municipalities across the country celebrate as well, with street fairs and concerts. We may ask ourselves, "why do we celebrate this event?" or "what does this event even signify?". This has also left me with questions and doubts, but as we look into it, it really does have a significance, most especially to the minimum-wage workers.

Moving on, this event is a national holiday honoring employees' efforts and achievements across the country.  At this time of a year, use it to make yourself feel rewarded and deserved for all of your hard work! Let this be a reminder of the hardships and sacrifices made by employees to make certain improved working conditions and fair pay. More than that, it provides an opportunity to recognize workers' contributions to both the economy and society. This special day also serves as a reminder to all employees of the significance of fair employment practices, social protection, and human rights. Furthermore, celebrating Labor Day serves as a reminder that we can continue to fight for policies that promote decent employment opportunities and improve conditions for workers not only in the Philippines, but also globally.
In conclusion, we know that the worker earns the bare minimum by selling his own labor. That is why Labor Day is observed. Thus the purpose of this day is to promote and encourage labor organizations. As a result, it is a particular day to honor and recognize their contributions to society, which are unquestionably well-deserved. Its the workers who help us to reach at top, happy labor day!
