A Memorable Day to Remember

Last March, high school day is yet again to emerge from its shell, and this time, its an event success. Small background, high school day was celebrated last March 25th of 2023, with the theme "Renewed Commitment in Defying odds to Transcend Heights of Excellence and Solidarity." Generally, high school day is celebrated to commemorate when the school was founded. This year marked its 121st anniversary. For us grade 10 students that would be ending their junior high years, this event is celebrated as our first and last experience, so we made sure to cherish every second in that day, as if its our last. 

On high school day, the school offered numerous activities to do. It started with a Thanksgiving mass at 8 a.m. Then it will resume at 10 a.m, with the teacher's doxology and hymns. Our respected principal, Mrs. Editha Bagcal, will then deliver welcoming rites and speeches to the attendees, alongside the superintendents. Then we, 10 - Maxwell, were given an opportunity to perform an intermission number due to our hip-hop success. One of the outstanding alumnae, will then deliver an inspirational speech to the crowd. We then get to witness a plaque of recognition and
acknowledgement of the outstanding teachers, employees, and retirees. After those parts were done, we get to eat lunch sponsored and contributed by the parents of 10 - Maxwell. After our tummies were filled, we are then again ready for the remaining activities. We get to watch the performance of selected students and teachers dancing to the Galaw Pilipinas, then the Kannawidan performance of the Grade 9, and lastly, the top 3 finalists of the hip-hop competition held last March 22 and 23, get to perform their last performance on the field, under the blazing sun. After that, I also got to witness the traditional games, played by teachers on each department. There were also booths, but unfortunately I didn't get to go there. 

In short, the high school day would have been observed two years ago, but it did not occur due to the unexpected pandemic. This year, High School Day will be celebrated, though limited pupils will be present. One of the most memorable aspects of being a high school student is the high school day. However, as a junior high student, I will be unlikely to witness it. Aside from that, I intend to continue to enjoy my high school experience in a variety of ways, and I intend to make my high school experience a lifetime memory.
